Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This policy explains what information RecipePo collects, how it is used, and what choices you have. It is written to be readable, not to obscure anything.

Who this applies to

Anyone who visits recipepo.com or uses the RecipePo app, with or without an account.

If you use RecipePo without an account

Your recipes, attempts, notes, and photos are stored entirely in your own browser using local browser storage. Nothing is sent to our servers. We have no visibility into what you create. If you clear your browser data, your recipes are gone — there is no backup on our end.

If you create an account

When you sign in with Google or email, we receive and store:

  • Your email address
  • Your display name (from Google, or as you set it)
  • Your profile photo URL if you sign in with Google

Your recipes, attempts, notes, and photos are stored in your account on our secure cloud backend so they are available across your devices. This data is private to you — no other user can see it unless you explicitly choose to share a recipe.

We use your email address to identify your account. We do not send marketing emails.

If you share a recipe publicly

When you set a recipe to public or unlisted, the content of that recipe (ingredients, method, attempt notes you have included, and any photos you have made visible) becomes accessible to anyone with the link or anyone who finds it through search. You control this — you can make a recipe private again at any time.

When another user copies your shared recipe, we record that a copy was made and who made it, so we can show copy counts and attribution. We do not expose the identity of users who copied a recipe.

Cookies

RecipePo uses cookies and similar local storage mechanisms only to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences (such as light or dark mode). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. Because we only use cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the service, we do not display a cookie consent banner. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and add appropriate controls.

Third-party services

RecipePo uses the following infrastructure providers to operate:

  • Supabase — cloud database and authentication (your account data is stored here)
  • Google OAuth — if you choose to sign in with Google

These providers have their own privacy policies. We do not use them for advertising purposes and we do not share your data with them beyond what is needed to run the service.

Data retention

If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information and your private recipes from our systems within 30 days. Public recipes that others have already copied will remain as copies in those users' accounts, attributed to your display name, but with no further connection to your deleted account.

Your rights

You can:

  • Export or delete your recipes at any time from within the app
  • Request deletion of your account by emailing us
  • Ask us what data we hold about you

To exercise any of these, write to hello@recipepo.com.

Children

RecipePo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, notify signed-in users by email.
